Colvillea racemosa

Colvillea racemosa on Devil’s Island, with cruise ship in the backdrop.

It is a rare and beautiful legume tree that comes from Madagascar. I grew this tree from seed and it took over ten years to bloom.

The seed needs to be scarified. Bottom heat is also required.

  1. I’m so glad you can see the ocean from your window! I like thinking of people in beautiful places. The blue makes a gorgeous backdrop for the oranges and greens; and the cruise ship, well, it looks like a giant floating cloud hovering in the seamless space of ocean and sky!
